Insider's Guide to Ari: Top Coffee Shops
Working from home, I am steadily learning how important it is to get out of the house from time-to-time to boost productivity and keep from going slightly insane talking to myself all day. Luckily, coffee shops seem to line the streets in our neck-of-the-woods ~ the relaxed, trendy neighborhood of Ari ~ so there's always somewhere to escape to when the distractions start to pile up at home. Whether you're looking for a quick pick-me-up or a place to hunker down with your laptop for hours, these are the spots with the best refreshments, tastiest treats and most conducive work environments. No shoddy Wi-Fi worries here...
White Rabbit: Fall into the rabbit hole at this Alice in Wonderland-inspired café, complete with heart-shaped seats and black-and-white checkered floors. It's the only spot in the area that makes my signature iced vanilla chai, but I have to admit that the fro-yo is what always keeps me coming back. After the lunch rush has come and gone (the food is delicious too!), you'll often find yourself there alone with the sweet baristas, making it a great place to power out some serious work as late afternoon shifts into evening.
Porcupine Café: For those who appreciate excellent design, Porcupine Café is the best spot in town. The white-washed interior make it feel bright and open, while the exposed stone surfaces and wooden elements give off a rustic vibe that make you feel cozy and at home. The drink list includes various coffees, juices and teas, but its the rotating cakes that really steal the show.
Casa Lapin:While it's a bit more expensive than other coffee shops in the neighborhood, you won't be disappointed in the quality of its offerings or its attractive atmosphere. A wall of magazines and cozy chairs make it the perfect spot to curl up and read or get lost in whatever you're working on. Warning: the Wi-Fi has a three-hour limit, so plan accordingly.
Chubby Cheeks:You'll certainly get chubby cheeks if you go to this place too often! Their mouthwatering desserts are just too hard to resist. But if you've got good self control, it's a really nice space to spend an afternoon. Feeling indulgent? Go for the chocolate pie with ice cream ~ trust me, you won't regret it.
